Imagine inspecting the entire cylindrical surface of bottles and cans, vials, or cosmetic containers without the need for orientation or accurate positioning. This seemingly impossible capability is what OmniView technology from Cognex provides!
OmniView uses 4 cameras to obtain a 3600 view of all features on the entire surface so vision tools can be applied to read barcodes, verify text, inspect graphics and measure features at speeds of up to 1,200 parts/min.
Obtaining such an image without OmniView requires stopping the line and rotating each cylindrical object in front of a line scan camera, a process that is just too slow for modern production. And by eliminating the complex and expensive equipment needed with a line scan camera, you can dramatically lower cost, reduce complexity and boost throughput!
