The company intend to continue to take advantage of  Cognex vision in order to to almost double the existing output of 600 solar modules a day to 1,100 modules.

Manufacturing printed circuit boards (PCBs) on glass substrates is a difficult job. Since the start of production in Germany, Würth Solar has collaborated with AIT Göhner, a member of the specialist partner integrator network of Cognex, to implement data tracking using In-Sight ID readers in order to boost productivity and optimize product quality.

Datamatrix code is applied to the plates and used to determine whether or not a specific plate has actually been processed thus preventing confusion. Quality data can be tracked using In-Sight ID readers before the completion of the production process allowing the company to detect defects and determine if the module will have the correct output before it's too late saving them both time and money.
