Case study - Checking bottle quality
When a US-based Meridian Beverage Co.'s new high-tech bottling line needed fill-and-cap verification, they chose Cognex's Checker®., an inspection sensor uses patterns to detect and inspect bottles and caps at speeds of 375 per minute.

Checker® identifies defective bottles and then triggers the rejection station to kick defective bottles off of the line. Checker® also inspects for incorrectly placed caps, proper placement of tamper evident safety rings, spaces between the cap and safety ring, appropriate fill levels, and other problems that can occur out of sight or under the caps.

Benefits: The company has achieved time efficient and ensuring free error results (thus, reduced equipment costs by 20%). The inspection was with a click of a button, the sensor captures images of passed and failed parts (enable the user to see what is or is not functioning properly) - this was much easier and simpler than before.
