OmniView cylindrical package inspection system
The Cognex OmniView® system delivers high speed inspection and identification of labels and lids of unoriented cylindrical products such as cans, bottles, jars, and vials—in color or monochrome—without having to slow your line.

OmniView inspection technology—How does it work?
1. Acquire images
Four cameras are mounted around the conveyor acquiring images as products move down the line—up to 1200 parts per minute. (Add a fifth camera for top-down inspections.)

2. Create a 3D model
From the images, a full, seamless 3D model is created—critical for performing accurate inspections especially when reading codes or other text strings.

3. Unwrap and inspect
Using the patented VisionPro® tool library, the system “unwraps” the 3D model and performs the required inspections for the application.

OmniView 5.0 now with color and high resolution enhancements
Color
Now with full color inspection, OmniView 5.0 lets you inspect color logos, match the cap and label graphics, and confirm the color of bottle contents. It also provides an appealing color display.

High Resolution
OmniView can perform detailed inspections on slower lines by using cameras with up to 5 megapixels. The higher resolution can also help you check tall, thin bottles from base to neck in a single field of view.

OmniView 5.0 cylindrical product inspection system comes complete with:
  • OmniView application software, complete with turnkey user interface
  • Cognex VisionPro vision tools for product identification and inspection
  • A set of calibration plates to support 3D modeling
