Coloured illumination and polarization options
 |
The new Checker® 4G Vision Sensors are now available with coloured illumination and polarization options. The coloured illumination option optimises
image contrast, eliminates the influences of factory lighting (when used in conjunction with a bandpass filter), and provides a fully integrated cost effective lighting solution. The polarization window drastically reduces specular reflections or glare
which can obscure features and cause inconsistent results. Checker 4G
Lighting: White, Red, Green, IR and UV Filters – Red, Green, Blue, IR and polarization For a complete list of features, download

Integrate Checker 4G into your factory network
 |
Checker 4G with Ethernet easliy integrates into your factory network. From one PC, you can remotely setup and display Checker(s) on your network, communicate to your PLC and FTP transfer an unlimited amount of images for storage and/or review. |
 |
The new Checker® 4G vision sensor offers the same powerful and easy-to-use setup Checker is known for plus Ethernet networking for remote setup and
monitoring, PLC communication through EtherNet/IP (EIP) and PROFINET, and the ability to save inspection images to an FTP server. Powering Factory Automation with Checker 4G enables:
- Remote setup and display - Ethernet
communication
- PLC Communication - PROFINETand EIP (w/AOP)
- A visual record of your inspections (FTP Images)

Royal Canadian Mint improves inspection productivity by 60% using Checker
 |
The Royal Canadian Mint (RCM) is at the forefront of innovation using advanced automation equipment to produce coinage and currency. In the past the
Mint were manually inspecting the number of coins contained within a roll and the integrity of each package.
The Mint has recently improved efficiency by implementing a machine vision system that checks the package to make sure it is intact and
verifies that the roll is the correct length. The machine vision system has improved inspection productivity from 25,000 to 40,000 rolls per shift, reduced downtime and eliminated a difficult manual task.

“We selected the Cognex Checker 3G1 vision sensor for this application because of its low cost, small size, and wide range of capabilities,” explains Phil Bernadin, Owner of Eascan the custom machine builder for this project. Checker vision
sensors integrate lighting, optics, camera, processor, and I/O in an industrial IP67 housing small enough to fit into the tightest of spaces. Click
