Cognex Connect now enables industrial protocol connectivity for Cognex DataMan 8000 ID readers through EtherNet/IP and PROFINET support
Simplify integration to reduce costs and downtime
By supporting standard industrial Ethernet communications protocols, Cognex Connect™ makes it easy to configure and monitor a network of Cognex ID readers and vision systems. As a network device, DataMan® and In-Sight® devices can be accessed from any terminal connected to the network. The Cognex Connect communication suite also allows a direct connection to a PLC.

In addition to offering the best 1D and 2D read rates, DataMan ID readers with Cognex Connect can now:
  1. Eliminate the host PC required to translate RS-232 or USB communications to a PLC or central network
  2. Archive files and images directly through FTP support for later review and analysis
  3. Provide a .NET based command library for customizing user-specific GUIs and terminal interfaces
The DataMan 8000 Series of ID readers also offers innovative modular connectivity. You may pgrade from RS-232/USB to Industrial Ethernet with field exchangeable interface modules to modify your initial installation when your communication requirements change!
